Conference Room & Corporate AV Build-Outs: Crestron, Biamp, QSC, RTI, Dante & AV-over-IP in Texas
A conference room is not a TV on a wall. It is a system: audio, video, control, network, lighting, shades, scheduling, and security — all working together the moment someone walks in and taps Join. When the system is designed right, nobody notices it. When it is wrong, every meeting starts late, IT gets the call, and the room sits empty.
EIG PRO designs, installs, programs, and commissions corporate AV across Dallas–Fort Worth and the rest of Texas. We are platform-agnostic and manufacturer-agnostic by choice — Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, Webex, Google Meet, BYOD, even open-source stacks. Crestron, Biamp, QSC, Extron, RTI, Shure, Sennheiser, Lutron. We pick what fits your room, your users, and your IT policy — not what is on a vendor spiff.
The rooms we build
Huddle and focus rooms (2–4 seats)
The most-used room in any modern office. One display, an all-in-one video bar (Logitech Rally Bar Mini, Poly Studio X30, Yealink MeetingBar), wireless presentation, and either a fixed UC platform or BYOD. Fast to deploy, cheap to scale, and the room your hybrid workforce actually books.
Standard conference rooms (6–12 seats)
Single or dual display, ceiling or table microphones, PTZ or smart camera, dedicated DSP if the room is wider than ~20 ft, and a touch panel for room control. We almost always recommend a permanent UC compute (MTR, ZR, or Webex Device) plus BYOD as a fallback so guests are never locked out.
Boardrooms
This is where corporate AV gets real. Dual 4K displays or a dvLED wall, beamforming ceiling microphones (Shure MXA920 or Sennheiser TCC2), a DSP doing AEC and dynamic mixing (Biamp Tesira or Q-SYS Core), camera switching across multiple PTZ or auto-tracker cameras, Crestron or Q-SYS control, integrated lighting and shade automation, and presentation switching for analyst laptops, presenters, and the room PC. We build these to survive a CEO town hall and a quarterly board vote in the same week.
Training rooms and classrooms
Instructor camera, learner camera, lecture capture (Panopto, Mediasite, Zoom recording, or local recording to NVR), program audio reinforcement, assistive listening, confidence monitors, and a control system that lets the instructor run the whole room from one panel. Lecture capture is where Dante and AV-over-IP start paying for themselves.
Divisible and flex rooms
Two or three rooms that combine into one with the push of a button — or, more often, an automated sensor on the wall partition. The control system re-routes audio (Dante or AES67), re-routes video (Crestron NVX, Q-SYS NV, or SDVoE), re-zones the microphone arrays, re-tunes the DSP, re-maps the displays, and re-labels the touch panels. Done right, the user does not know which mode the room is in — it just works.
Multipurpose, town-hall and all-hands spaces
Higher SPL audio, wireless handheld and lavalier mics, presenter confidence monitor, IMAG cameras, broadcast-quality recording or streaming feed to corporate communications. We frequently pair these with overflow streaming into other conference rooms over IP.
Presentation halls and auditoriums
Line-array audio with system tuning, dvLED or laser projection (single or edge-blended), tiered seating with task-light control, scene-based lighting, a real production position with intercom, and an IP-based signal flow so production teams can grow into broadcast-grade workflows without a rip-and-replace.
Secure and SCIF-adjacent spaces
No-RF policies, cellular blocking awareness, isolated AV networks (red/black separation), on-prem control rather than cloud, hardware-only mute with tally indicators, TEMPEST-aware cabling practices, and physical key-locked rack access. We work alongside your security officer or third-party assessor to keep the install compliant from rough-in through commissioning.
Platforms — we do all of them
Your video platform should be a business decision, not a hardware constraint. We deploy and support all of the majors and most of the minors:
- Microsoft Teams Rooms — Windows or Android, single or dual display, with or without Front Row, Cortana, and Intelligent Speaker pairing.
- Zoom Rooms — Windows, Mac, appliance (Neat, Poly, Logitech, Yealink), Zoom Workplace integration, scheduling displays, and Zoom Phone where it makes sense.
- Cisco Webex — Webex Devices (Room Bar, Room Kit, Board Pro), RoomOS, control hub, and dual-registration to Teams when your org runs both.
- Google Meet hardware — Series One and certified third-party appliances.
- Legacy and migration — GoToRoom, BlueJeans, Pexip, Lifesize, and old Polycom RealPresence rooms. We pull them out, recycle, and rebuild on the platform you actually use now.
- BYOD / bring-your-own-meeting — Mersive Solstice, Barco ClickShare, Crestron AirMedia, or USB-C dock to the room camera and mics. The guest plugs in or casts; the room follows.
- Open-source and self-hosted — Jitsi Meet and BigBlueButton for education, government, and privacy-first organizations that need on-prem control of the call itself.
Control and automation
Control is the difference between "the room works" and "the room is loved." We program in-house — no farmed-out integration shops, no boilerplate templates dropped into your environment.
- Crestron — NVX AV-over-IP, Flex UC, DM signal routing, TSW touch panels, and Crestron Virtual Control or VC4 for centrally managed rooms.
- Q-SYS by QSC — Core processors, NV-32-H AV-over-IP, NC-Series cameras, and UCI scripting for custom touch panels. Q-SYS is increasingly our default for new builds where audio, video, and control collapse into one ecosystem.
- Extron — Pro Series control, NAV AV-over-IP, and DTP for hospitality and education installs.
- RTI — Excellent fit for mid-market boardrooms, executive briefing centers, and conferencing spaces that need a clean UI without a six-figure control budget.
- Lighting and shades — Lutron Quantum / Athena, Crestron lighting, and DALI tie-ins so "Presentation Mode" actually dims the lights and lowers the shades.
Audio and DSP
Audio is where most rooms fail. The far end complains, then never books your room again. We design audio first.
- Biamp Tesira — Server, Forté, and Tesira LUX endpoints; Parlé beamforming ceiling and tabletop microphones.
- Q-SYS Core — Native AEC, dynamic mixing, scriptable signal flow, and the same processor handling video and control.
- Shure — MXA902, MXA920, MXA710, and IntelliMix Room with native MTR / Zoom certification.
- Sennheiser — TeamConnect Ceiling 2, TCC M, and MobileConnect for assistive listening.
- Dante — The default audio transport for any room above a single huddle. Dedicated VLAN, IGMP snooping, PTP, and switch-side QoS. We design the network alongside the audio, not after.
Video and signal transport
HDMI cables across a building are a punch-list nightmare. We move video over IP wherever distances, room counts, or routing complexity justify it.
- Crestron NVX — Visually lossless 4K/60 4:4:4 over standard 10 GbE.
- Q-SYS NV Series — Native to Q-SYS, no separate control system required.
- SDVoE — Open standard, low-latency, ideal for command-and-control and live production rooms.
- NDI — When you need to bridge AV to a broadcast or content production workflow.
- Displays — Sony Bravia Pro, Samsung QM/QB, LG UH7J, NEC ME-Series, Planar / Leyard dvLED, and laser projection from Epson, Panasonic, and Sony depending on lumens and throw.
- Cameras — Q-SYS NC, Logitech Sight, Huddly L1, Vaddio, Aver, and PTZOptics for budget-sensitive deployments. Auto-framing, presenter tracking, and multi-camera director mode where the room demands it.
Network requirements — your AV is only as good as your VLAN
Every modern AV system is a network application. If your IT team is not in the design meeting, the install will fail QA. Our standard scope includes:
- Dedicated AV/UC VLAN with IGMP snooping, PIM, and IGMP querier configured.
- Jumbo frames enabled where required (NVX, SDVoE).
- PTP grandmaster identified, boundary clocks configured for Dante and AV-over-IP.
- QoS marking honored end-to-end — DSCP 46 for audio, 34 for video, 26 for control.
- PoE++ (802.3bt) budget on the access switch for cameras, ceiling mics, displays, and touch panels.
- Switch selection from Cisco Catalyst, Aruba CX, Netgear M4250 AV-Line, or Q-SYS-certified Cisco/Netgear/Extreme models — we will not pretend a non-certified switch is "probably fine."
Secure spaces
For government, defense, healthcare, financial, and legal clients we deliver rooms that pass real security review:
- Separation of duties between AV control and corporate IT.
- Red/black cabling with documented separation distances.
- Port-level 802.1X on every AV endpoint.
- On-prem Crestron VC4 / Q-SYS Reflect rather than cloud monitoring.
- On-prem Microsoft Teams Rooms or Webex Edge for Calling where cloud telemetry is prohibited.
- Tally-lit physical mute, lens-cover cameras, and visible recording indicators.
Cabling and infrastructure — the part you only get one shot at
The drywall closes once. We coordinate with the architect, GC, and electrical contractor during rough-in to land:
- Cat6A shielded backbone to every AV endpoint; OM4 fiber for runs over 100 m or for any 25/40 GbE AV-over-IP backbone.
- Plenum-rated cabling where required, with proper firestop at penetrations.
- EMT or innerduct between IDF and room rack for future-proofing.
- Recessed floor boxes and table grommets for clean cable management at the conference table.
- Ceiling mic backing, blocking for displays, and dedicated 20 A circuits on a clean ground.
