The Construction Tech Stack Behind EIG PRO: Procore, BuildingConnected & the Tools That Deliver Projects On Time
Great construction outcomes are not luck. They are a stack. At EIG PRO, every project — from a 300-unit multifamily community in Wylie to a ground-up commercial buildout in Dallas — runs through a deliberate toolchain that keeps preconstruction tight, the field accountable, subs paid on time, and owners informed. This post is a full tour of that construction technology stack: what each platform does, why we picked it, and how it converts into faster schedules, cleaner pay applications, and fewer surprises for owners and lenders.
If you are an owner, developer, or property manager evaluating a general contractor, the software a GC runs on is one of the fastest signals of operational maturity. A shop that lives in spreadsheets and text messages cannot give you real-time schedule variance, verified certified payroll, or defensible change-order documentation. A shop running on the tools below can — and does, every week.
Project Management: Procore and Pantera Tools
Procore — the single source of truth for the jobsite
Procore is the backbone of our construction project management workflow. Every RFI, submittal, daily log, punch list item, drawing revision, and photo lives inside Procore, tied to the specific project, spec section, and drawing sheet. That matters because it collapses the two most expensive words in construction: "I did not know." When a superintendent flags a conflict in the field on Tuesday, the architect sees it Tuesday, not at the next OAC meeting.
How EIG PRO uses Procore on multifamily and commercial projects:
- Daily logs from every super feed weather, manpower counts by trade, deliveries, and safety observations into one timeline owners can review.
- Submittal registers are built during buyout so long-lead items (switchgear, rooftop units, elevators) never surprise the schedule.
- Drawing sets are version-controlled; when the architect issues an ASI, the old sheet is stamped superseded and the new sheet flows to every field iPad automatically.
- Punch lists and warranty items are tracked with photo evidence, so closeout is not a scavenger hunt.
Pantera Tools — bid invitation and vendor outreach
Pantera Tools complements Procore on the preconstruction side. It lets us push bid packages to a wide, qualified network of subcontractors and track invitation-to-quote-to-award in one dashboard. On competitive commercial bids where coverage is the difference between a winning number and a losing one, Pantera keeps us from missing a scope.
Preconstruction & Procurement: BuildingConnected, SmartBid, ConstructConnect
BuildingConnected — the largest construction bidding network in North America
BuildingConnected (Autodesk) is where preconstruction actually happens. We use it to solicit bids from a vetted subcontractor pool, run bid leveling in a structured template so apples-to-apples comparisons are honest, and archive every historical bid for future budgeting. For owners, that historical dataset is quietly one of the most valuable things a GC can offer: when you ask us "what did drywall cost per square foot on the last four garden-style projects?" we have the answer in minutes, not days.
SmartBid + SmartInsight — bid management with analytics
SmartBid extends invitation-to-bid workflows, while SmartInsight layers analytics on top: response rates by trade, coverage gaps, average time to bid. When a scope keeps coming back light, SmartInsight surfaces it before the estimator burns two weeks chasing subs that were never going to respond.
ConstructConnect — project leads and takeoff intelligence
ConstructConnect gives our business development team a private, filtered feed of upcoming projects in the DFW metro and greater Texas market so we can position early — long before an ITB hits public channels.
Analytics: Compass by Bespoke
Compass by Bespoke Metrics is how EIG PRO benchmarks itself against the industry. Compass evaluates general contractors on financial strength, safety, project performance, and operational discipline, then issues a Q Score — the same score major owners, sureties, and property managers use to prequalify GCs. EIG PRO holds a top-tier Q Score and ranks nationally on the Compass performance leaderboard. For owners, that translates into a simple statement: we have been independently audited, and the number is public. If you want to see it, ask us on the contact page.
Design & Documentation: Bluebeam, CompanyCam, Dropbox, Microsoft 365
Bluebeam Revu — markup, quantity takeoff, and coordination
Bluebeam Revu is the standard PDF platform for construction documents. Our estimators use Revu for measurement-accurate takeoffs on bid drawings; our PMs use Studio Sessions for live drawing coordination with architects and MEP engineers. When an owner asks for redlined drawings on a change order, they get a properly stamped, layered Bluebeam PDF — not a screenshot.
CompanyCam — every photo, geo-tagged and timestamped
CompanyCam owns photo documentation at EIG PRO. Every superintendent, PM, and safety walk generates GPS-tagged, timestamped photos organized by project, phase, and location. Two things this unlocks: (1) defensible change-order documentation — if a hidden condition is discovered during demo, we have the photo evidence with coordinates and time; (2) transparent progress reporting for owners and lenders who want to see the job without visiting it.
Dropbox and Microsoft 365 — the boring layer that keeps everything moving
Dropbox holds long-term project archives, warranty documents, and closeout binders. Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams calendar) is the email, document, and calendar backbone. Not glamorous — critical.
Finance & Payments: Textura, QuickBooks, VendorCafe, Elation Systems
Textura (Oracle) — subcontractor pay applications and lien waivers
Textura is Oracle's construction payment platform. On qualifying projects, subs submit AIA G702/G703 pay apps, sworn statements, and lien waivers directly through Textura, and funds flow when compliance is clean. For owners and lenders, that means every dollar paid downstream is documented, waived, and auditable — the single biggest lever against mechanic's-lien risk on a project.
QuickBooks — accounting and financial source of truth
All EIG PRO accounts payable, receivable, and job costing live in QuickBooks. It is the authoritative record for what a project earned, what it spent, and what has actually been paid. Draw payment status in QuickBooks is the source of truth — never a spreadsheet, never a memory.
VendorCafe — vendor payments for property-management-owned assets
VendorCafe (Yardi) is used by many of our multifamily owner-clients to disburse funds to approved vendors. EIG PRO is credentialed and integrated so pay cycles are not slowed by onboarding friction.
Elation Systems — HUD-certified payroll and prevailing wage compliance
Elation Systems is how we run certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting on projects with HUD, Davis-Bacon, or public-funding requirements. Elation validates weekly payrolls against the wage decision, catches classification and fringe errors before they become findings, and delivers WH-347 forms in the format agencies actually accept. For owners bringing tax-credit or federally assisted deals to market, this is not optional — it is the difference between a clean closeout and a compliance audit.
Vendor Compliance & Risk: RealPage, Netvendor
RealPage Vendor Compliance
RealPage Vendor Compliance is used by many of our institutional multifamily owners to verify insurance limits, W-9s, and safety programs across every vendor on site. EIG PRO maintains compliant status year-round so we can be added to a new property portfolio in days, not weeks.
Netvendor — vendor credentialing and risk
Netvendor is the parallel credentialing platform for a growing share of owner-clients. Same idea, different owner network — and the reason we do not slow down when a new PMC issues an insurance requirement mid-project.
RealPage property management platform
Beyond compliance, RealPage's property management software is the operating system for many of the communities we build. Coordinating turnover schedules and warranty callbacks with a client's RealPage-based operations team is faster and cleaner because we speak the same platform.
Communication & Signatures: Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, DocuSign
Microsoft Teams and Google Meet cover OAC meetings, sub coordination, and owner check-ins. We meet clients where they are — if your team runs on Google Workspace, we run Google Meet; if you run on Microsoft, we run Teams.
DocuSign handles digital signatures for prime contracts, subcontracts, change orders, and lien waivers. Combined with Textura and Elation, DocuSign closes the loop: a change order can be issued, signed, priced, executed, and paid without a single piece of paper crossing a desk.
How the stack fits together on a real project
Here is what a typical week looks like when the stack is working correctly:
- Monday morning: Procore daily logs from the weekend are already reviewed. CompanyCam photos are attached to any open RFIs. Safety observations are flagged.
- Monday PM: BuildingConnected buyout meeting — the PM and estimator level the two remaining scopes and issue awards through DocuSign.
- Wednesday: Owner OAC meeting in Teams. Schedule variance and cost-to-complete are shared live from Procore; RFI aging is reviewed; RealPage Vendor Compliance status is confirmed for two new subs mobilizing next week.
- Thursday: Subcontractor pay apps come through Textura. Elation validates certified payrolls for the HUD-funded portion of the project. QuickBooks reconciles the outbound wire the next morning.
- Friday: Bluebeam markup session with the architect on Building B foundation revisions. Studio Session recorded; ASI issued through Procore before the weekend.
Nothing in that week requires heroics. It requires a stack, and discipline in using it.
Why this matters if you are hiring a general contractor
Every platform above is auditable. When you hire EIG PRO, you can — and should — ask for:
- Access to your project's Procore instance as an owner user.
- A weekly export of Textura lien waiver status.
- Certified payroll reports out of Elation, delivered on your cadence.
- Compass Q Score verification directly from Bespoke.
- Photo timelines from CompanyCam at any milestone you care about.
Transparency is not a marketing word. It is a set of exports.
Frequently asked questions
What construction management software does EIG PRO use?
Procore is our primary construction project management platform, with Pantera Tools supporting bid outreach. Preconstruction runs through BuildingConnected and SmartBid, financials through QuickBooks and Textura, and compliance through Elation Systems and RealPage Vendor Compliance.
How does BuildingConnected differ from Procore?
BuildingConnected is a preconstruction and bid management network — it is where a GC solicits, receives, and levels subcontractor bids. Procore is a project execution platform — RFIs, submittals, daily logs, drawings, and closeout. Most modern GCs, including EIG PRO, use both.
Do you provide certified payroll for HUD and prevailing wage projects?
Yes. EIG PRO runs certified payroll through Elation Systems, which produces WH-347 forms and validates classifications and fringe against the applicable wage decision every week.
Can owners see project progress in real time?
Yes. Owners are added as users in Procore and receive CompanyCam project feeds. You can review daily logs, RFIs, submittals, drawings, and photo documentation at any time — no scheduled meeting required.
How does the tech stack protect owners from mechanic's liens?
Textura ties every subcontractor payment to an executed lien waiver, and Elation validates certified payroll before funds release on federally assisted projects. Combined with QuickBooks reconciliation and RealPage-verified insurance, the paper trail behind every paid dollar is complete.
Build with a GC whose stack matches your standards
If the tools your team runs on show up in this list, we already speak your language. If they do not, we are used to meeting owners on their platforms — and we bring the compliance, financial, and field infrastructure to run a project cleanly regardless of software preference.
